5 Reasons why you should never skip breakfast!

Health No Comments »

5 Reasons why you should never skip breakfast!

Got the habit of skipping breakfast? Yes, no? Well, whatever your answer may be, just have it in mind that this meal is super important.

So yes, if you happen to be one of the many people who find it hard to eat something in the morning, just know that you’re doing your precious body more harm than good.

In fact, you’re not doing it any good!

Still in doubt?
Well, here are 5 strong reasons why you should eat breakfast every morning.

1. Breakfast Keeps You Healthy
First off, chances are you’ve been under the misconception that skipping breakfast save calories that you can use later in the day when your stomach begins to growl.
Well, sorry to burst your bubble but that’s the pretty much one of the biggest lies ever told.
Contrary to what you think, eating a super healthy breakfast in the morning can help keep your blood sugar levels in check and that’s great.
On the flip side, when you fail to take something in the morning, you’ll end up feeling hungry throughout the day — in fact, the pangs may come much quicker than you thought!

2. Breakfast Gives You Energy
Got several different goals to achieve during the day?
If so, you won’t be wrong to kick things off with a hearty morning meal.
It’s never a good idea to skip breakfast regardless of how busy or less hungry you are in the morning.
Yes, you actually need all the nutrients in a healthy breakfast to carry out your daily tasks with ease — remember, there are times when you have no choice but to wait for hours before grabbing your next bite!
All in all, don’t skip breakfast if you want to stay active and strong for the day’s many tasks.

3. Breakfast Helps You Manage Your Weight
Sounds strange right? Well, it shouldn’t! Breakfast actually increases your chances of losing weight or keeping your overall weight in check.
When you adopt the habit of eating breakfast in the morning, you’ll find it incredibly easy to resist the urge to reach out for junk food later in the day.
And of course, your chances of staying in shape are higher when you have little to no junk food in your life! Moreover, consuming more calories in the morning and fewer as the day goes on is an effective way to maintain a healthy weight.

4. Breakfast Gives You Much-needed Nutrients
Skipping breakfast is the same as skipping nutrients — it’s as simple as that.
When you choose not to enjoy a hearty meal at the start of the day, you won’t be able to make up for the lost nutrients.
The good news? You can start getting your nutrients today — just eat breakfast!

5. Breakfast Improves Your Mental Capacity
Want to be mentally alert and attentive during the day? Who wouldn’t want to?

Well, just don’t skip this all-important meal! Today, there are quite a number of breakfast foods that boast the capacity to fire up your brain and take your creativity to the next level.

Some smart, brain-boosting breakfasts include Whole grain toast with smoked salmon or avocado, oatmeal with blueberries, egg sandwich, Cereal with Peaches and Milk just to name a few.

So now what? Well, it’s about time to take breakfast serious! D
on’t skip it and no, don’t skimp on it — just eat it! Stay healthy!

Why Breakfast Is Very Important

Why breakfast is very important. For a long time, breakfast has held a lofty title as the so-called “most important meal of the day”. And it makes some sense; breakfast is the first part of the day in which we nourish ourselves and load up on calories for the day ahead. But is breakfast really as important as it claims to be? After all, it seems as though an increasing number of people seem to skip the meal altogether. So just how important is breakfast? Well, the short answer is “very”, but maybe not for the most obvious reasons.

Summary:
So if you’re the kind of person who usually skips out on a morning meal, what can we say that might make you reconsider? Well for starters, studies have seemed to indicate that eating breakfast can potentially lower your risk for heart disease. According to a study from the University of Iowa and published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, missing out on breakfast can potentially have a negative effect when it comes to your cardiovascular health. Based on the findings of the study, people who opted out of starting their day with a meal could be as much as 87 percent more likely to suffer from a heart disease-related death compared to people who ate breakfast on the daily. That’s…a really high number. Ouch.

The author of this particular study was Wei Bao, an assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of Iowa’s College of Public Health. In an interview with the website Healthline, Bao reiterated the claim that, yes, breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. According to Bao:

“Healthy eating plays a major role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease […] However, previous studies mainly focused on the content of what people eat. Not much is known about how people organize their meals. This is the first study to link skipping breakfast to cardiovascular death”.
The American Heart Association also attests that people who skip breakfast in the morning appear to have an increased risk of heart disease as well as diabetes and high cholesterol. For even more evidence on the link between breakfast and physical health, research published in the journal of nutrition makes the claim that skipping breakfast once per week can make you 6 percent more likely to develop type 2 diabetes. From there, the numbers only continue to rise: skipping breakfast 4 or 5 times a week can instead increase your type 2 diabetes risk by as much as 55 percent!

How Much Cardio Should You Do To Lose Belly Fat? (4 Step Plan)

Weight No Comments »

Wondering how much cardio is needed to burn belly fat? Well, you’re in the right place. We’re going to talk all about cardio, and more specifically how you can use it to get rid of belly fat. The truth is, most people seeking burn belly fat approach their cardio routines the wrong way and fail to account for the various metabolic adaptations we experience. The good news though is by Implementing the right cardio plan, you will be able to break through any plateaus you encounter to the point where you’re able to lose belly fat. Before that, let’s first take a look at the problems we face when it comes to cardio and belly fat loss.

One of the major limitations with cardio for fat loss is that as we lose weight and improve our fitness levels, our body compensates by trying to burn less calories throughout the day. That’s obviously bad news if you want to burn belly fat. And is also why your cardio plan needs to be designed and actually progressed overtime such that it accounts for this. But, at the same time, you don’t want to do too much too soon.

So, how exactly do we account for those factors? Well, we can do so with a 4-step plan that when combined with a calorie deficit from your diet, will help you lean down and eventually get rid of belly fat. The first thing we need to do here is establish a small amount of cardio to get you in the habit of moving and adhering to a cardio plan that we can then progress. What I’d recommend is just 10 minutes of incline walking every single day. You can swap this for light cycling or any low intensity, low impact cardio modality.

In step 2, we want to then very gradually start increasing the duration and/or difficulty of our cardio sessions. But again, the key here though is that you’re simply increasing your cardio very gradually overtime to enable you to break through any plateaus you encounter so you lose belly fat successfully. That said, the extent to which you do so though will vary individually and depend on your lifestyle.

As you apply the above 3 steps, you need to ensure that you’re not then compensating outside of these cardio sessions. So, to avoid this possible compensation from impeding your belly fat loss, you need to control and monitor 3 variables. First, your step count. Second, you need to be adhering to a regular weightlifting routine. And lastly, you need to monitor and control your calorie intake and ensure that you’re still adhering to a calorie deficit.

Now the last step here has to do with maintaining your new physique. Find a routine or hobby that you can now stick to that’ll enable you to maintain your new bodyweight and physique with ease.

Here’s a summary of what I’ve covered on how much cardio is needed to burn belly fat:

Step 1 (Baseline): Start at a low baseline level of cardio.

Step 2 (Increase): In gradual increments, increase the duration/difficulty of your weekly cardio sessions every time you reach a plateau.

Step 3 (Control): Control all other variables and keep them consistent (weights routine, daily steps, calorie intake) to avoid compensating for your cardio sessions.

Step 4 (Maintain): After you’ve successfully stripped off the belly fat, find a routine that’ll enable you to maintain your new bodyweight and physique.

Just keep in mind that you need to be pairing your cardio routine with a regular weightlifting routine and a solid nutrition plan, as these will both help speed up the process and ensure that you don’t just end up “skinny fat” by the end of your fat loss journey. And for a step by step plan that shows you exactly how to do this by optimizing your workouts, nutrition, and cardio plan for you such that you can lean down as efficiently as possible with science, just like countless of our members have done with their Built With Science programs, then simply take the analysis quiz below to discover which specific program is best for your body and where it’s currently at:

6 Things You Should Never Do After Eating

Health No Comments »

People usually lie down or sit comfortably in a chair after having dinner, but this is a big mistake you should never make. According to experts, these habits are highly dangerous and can put your health at risk. In this video I’m about to share with you 6 things you should never do after eating

1.Smoking
Smoking is bad enough, but after a meal, it’s ten times the killer. Yep, that’s right! smoking right after a meal is very bad and if you must do it, you should wait for at least a couple of hours after the meal. Cigarette contain nicotine, a substance that binds to oxygen your body desperately needs for digestion, which makes your body absorb carcinogens. According to several studies, smoking a cigarette after a meal has the same effect as smoking 10 cigarettes at once, and increases your risk of bowel and lung cancer significantly as well.

2.Never go to bed after a meal
Lying down for a nap or sleeping after a meal is the favorite thing of millions of people, but this habit is not healthy at all. When we lie down some digestive juices from your stomach flow back to the esophagus because of gravitational force, due to its acidic nature it can burn the inner layer of the esophagus causing acid reflux.

3.Never rush to shower after a meal
Waiting 30 minutes after a meal in order to take a shower is the best suggestion one could give on this topic. Digestion needs a lot of energy and blood flow in our body. But when we take a warm water shower, blood flows towards your skin to release off the heat, thus making it difficult to digest.

4.Drinking tea
Teas are healthy, but shouldn’t be consumed after a meal. Drinking tea after having a meal can interfere with the iron absorption in your body as tea contains tannic acid which binds to the iron and protein from our food. This can result in 87% decrease in iron absorption and even iron deficiency, which can lead to anemia, dizziness, weakness and fatigue
5.Eat your fruits before not after a meal
Fruits are recommended by almost everyone, be it some expert dietician, or just some inexperienced house-wife. But few of them know that fruits just after any meal can be harmful, and thus neglect to mention it to you. Fruits are the easiest to digest, and just take 20 minutes to travel from your stomach to intestines, where they are finally digested (bananas and dates being the two exceptions). So when you eat a fruit after a meal, it gets stuck with the food, thus not travelling in time to the intestines, and getting spoiled as a result, thus spoiling food too.

6.Avoid cold water after a meal
The reason is very simple . Ice water does not let the food digest properly because it causes clumping of food. Hot warm water helps absorbs nutrients better.
